Cowboy Tennis Falls at Texas Tech


The Oklahoma State men’s tennis team faced its third consecutive top-25 opponent Sunday as the Cowboys dropped their match against No. 21 Texas Tech, 5-2, at the McLeod Tennis Center.

The Red Raiders picked up the doubles point as their two ranked doubles teams won at Nos. 1 and 2, but OSU’s Vlad Bondarenko and Tomas Patiño earned a win on the No. 3 court over Tech’s David Gonzalez and Raphael Pfister, 8-6.

The Cowboys earned two team points in singles play as Aleksey Bessonov defeated Vitor Manzini at No. 4 and Eric West defeated Gabriel Wanderley at No. 5, but Texas Tech claimed the remaining matches for the 5-2 dual victory.

Oklahoma State returns to action April 6 for a Bedlam matchup with Oklahoma in Norman.
