Cowboys Drop Match at Louisville


LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 38 Oklahoma State men’s tennis team fell to No. 10 Louisville, 6-1, Saturday at Louisville’s Bass-Rudd Rudd Tennis Center, dropping its record to 3-4 on the year.

The Cowboys, who beat Western Michigan, 5-2, in Louisville Friday night, got in a hole early as they lost all three doubles matches to go down 1-0.

In singles play, Oklahoma State lost the first five matches to seal the final result before No. 65 Anton Bobytskyi pulled out a close three-set upset win over Louisville’s 49th-ranked Simon Childs to make the final score 6-1, Louisville.

Trevor Horstmann saw his first dual match action as a Cowboy, falling to Louisville’s Chidi Gabriel at the No. 6 spot, 6-1, 6-3.

Oklahoma State resumes competition March 10 when it faces Hawai’i in Las Vegas, Nev.
