Cowboys Finish Ninth At Morris Williams


AUSTIN, Texas — Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team carded its second consecutive 301 on Tuesday to finish in ninth place at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate at The University of Texas Golf Club.

The Cowboys wrapped up the event with a 901 total and three shots behind Tulsa for eighth place. Georgia fired a 284 during its final round to squeak out a one-shot win over host school Texas. The Bulldogs finished at 878 for the 54-hole tournament.

Georgia’s Harris English fired a final round 65 at the par-71, 7,412-yard layout to move from a tie for 14th place into sole possession of first. English’s 1-under 212 total put him five shots ahead of the field.

A pair of Cowboys tied for 26th place as redshirt freshman Sean Einhaus and sophomore Morgan Hoffmann each posted 225 totals. Einhaus followed up rounds of 74 and 73 with a closing 78, while Hoffmann posted the squad’s round of the day with a 72 to get to his 12-over total.

Sophomore Peter Uihlein’s third-round 74 tied him for 32nd place at 226.

Junior Kevin Tway carded his third-straight 77 to finish in a group tied for 53rd that included senior teammate Trent Whitekiller, who closed with an 81.

Junior Mark Johnson competed individually and finished alone in 68th with a 236 total after signing for a 79.

The Cowboys will return to action on April 17 when they travel to Bryan, Texas for the Aggie Invitational.
