Cowboys Tied For Ninth In Vegas

VEGAS ( Athletics ) — Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team opened play at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters on Friday with a 302 score to stand in a tie for ninth place at Southern Highlands Golf Course.

The Cowboys’14-over score put them in a tie with Tennessee and . Florida grabbed the first-round lead with its 292, while came in two strokes back and stands alone in second place.

Individually, TCU’s Johan de Beer and Florida’s Tyson Alexander each fired 4-under 68s to share the lead.

sophomore Peter Uihlein carded a 74 to stand in a tie for 16th place, while redshirt freshman Sean Einhaus came in tied for 25th with his opening 75.

Junior Kevin Tway came in tied for 38th with a 76 and senior Trent Whitekiller’s 77 tied him for 46th place.

Sophomore Morgan Hoffmann came in tied for 60th place with 79.

The Cowboys will be back in action tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. () and will be grouped with Georgia Tech and Georgia at the par-72, 7,510-yard layout.
