Cowgirls Have Strong Showing in Fayetteville, Ark.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Oklahoma State Cowgirl Track and Field team finished up the John McDonnell Invitational Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark with a strong showing on the track and in the field.
Junior Clarissa Andrews notched two second place finishes and season bests in the long jump and triple jump with marks of 6.04 and 12.02 meters respectively.
The Cowgirls had a busy day during the 1500 meter run, but Cowgirl freshman Kate Kujawa and sophomore Melanie Funke finished second and third respectively finishing only inches apart from each other. Kujawa came in with her season best time of 4:44.15 and Funke finished with a time of 4:44.67 notching her season best as well.
Juniors Brandi Andrews and Mihaela Susa both notched first place finishes in the 800 meter run and 800 meter run inivte. Andrews finished with a time of 2:14.27 and Susa finished two seconds ahead of the pack with a time of 2:07.77 in her race.
The Cowgirls will return to action next week to compete at the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kan. and the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif.
