Cowgirls Host Sooners
Oklahoma State’s 16th-ranked softball team will host the No. 15 Oklahoma Sooners on Wednesday, April 27, at the Cowgirl Softball Complex. First pitch is slated for 7 pm. The game will be televised by Cox Communications in both Tulsa and Oklahoma City (Cox channel 3).
Oklahoma State is 36-11 overall this season and 7-4 in Big 12 Conference action, currently in sole possession of third place in the Big 12 standings. The Sooners are 34-14 overall, 7-6 in league play and currently in sixth place in the league.
The Cowgirls are led by seniors Alysia Hamilton and Mariah Gearhart. Hamilton is hitting .403 this season with 38 runs scored and 31 runs batted in. Gearhart, the leadoff hitter, is batting .391 with 45 runs scored and 33 stolen bases.
In the circle for , sophomore Kat Espinosa is 19-5 overall this season with a 2.35 earned run average. Freshman Simone Freeman is 9-5 with a 1.90 .
The Sooners have won the previous two meetings this season and have taken a slim 70-69 advantage in the all-time series.
