Cowgirls Move Into Third At Central Regional
COLUMBUS, Ind. — Oklahoma State’s women’s golf team posted a 308 during its second round at the Central Regional on Friday to move into third place at Otter Creek Golf Club.
The ninth-seeded Cowgirls stand at 37-over 613 with one round remaining at the par-72, 6,417-yard layout. Southern California leads the way with a 603 total, while Arizona State is in second at 607.
freshman Victoria Park carded a 74 to move into a tie for first place in the individual race at 146, 2-over. She finished the day knotted with Lizette Salas for top honors.
The Irvine, Calif., native bogeyed her opening hole, but moved back to level par with a birdie at the par-4 seventh. Park then reeled off eight consecutive pars before recording bogeys at Nos. 16 and 17 en route to her 74.
Park was joined in the top 10 by sophomore teammate Caroline Hedwall, who posted the squad’s low round of the day with a 73. Hedwall finished the day tied for seventh at 150.
Freshman Courtney McKim recorded an 81 and finished the day tied for 34th at 157, while freshman Hillary Wood posted her second-straight 80 and came in tied for 56th at 160.
Freshman Eyglo Oskarsdottir signed for an 84 for a 172 total, putting her in 108th place.
The Cowgirls will look to earn their 10th consecutive berth tomorrow with the top eight teams after tomorrow’s final round advancing to the Championship in Wilmington, N.C. will be grouped with and Arizona State and will tee off at 8:00 a.m. ().
