Cowgirls Open Big 12 Equestrian Play
STILLWATER, Okla. – The Oklahoma State equestrian team opens up Big 12 play Saturday when it hosts the Baylor Bears at the Animal Science Arena.
Last Time Out
The Cowgirls are coming off a 13-6 victory over the University of Tennessee- Martin Skyhawks. Junior Mamie Tomlin led the western team to an 8-2 victory with her 75.5 ride in horsemanship, while junior Jordan White anchored the hunterseat team’s 5-4 win with a career ride in equitation on the flat, scoring 99 out of a possible 100 points.
About the Bears
Baylor is 3-0 and coming off a first-place finish at the Willis Invitational in Waco, Texas. They travel to Manhattan, Kansas to take on the Kansas State Wildcats on Friday, October 15 before making their way to Stillwater for the Saturday matchup with the Cowgirls.
Equitation on the Flat
The Cowgirls’ lineup for equitation on the flat is yet to be determined.
Equitation Over Fences
Competing for the Cowgirls this weekend in equitation over fences are seniors Erin Prutow and Alice White, junior Jordan White, sophomore Ellie Sparks and freshman Samantha Elser.
Horsemanship
Seniors Ashley Kennedy and Courtney Whitacre, junior Mamie Tomlin, Sophomore Marissa Dalton and redshirt freshman Lauren Halvorson will all ride for the Cowgirls in horsemanship.
Reining
Rounding out the afternoon in reining are senior Bri Parnell, juniors Caroline Daniels and Rachel Houchin, sophomore Christy McElreath and freshman Jenna Blumer.
