Cowgirls Tie For Second At McNamara Invite


OWASSO, Okla. — Oklahoma State’s women’s golf team posted a 309 during its final round at the Dale McNamara Invitational to tie for second place at the Patriot Golf Club.

The Cowgirls finished with a 54-hole total of 900, tying them with Texas for the runner-up spot at the par-72, 6,450-yard layout. Oklahoma won the event after posting a closing 294 for an 877 total.

OU’s Ellen Mueller posted a third-round 69 to claim medalist honors, finishing with a 209 total.

Sophomore Victoria Park came in as OSU’s top finisher, claiming sixth place with a 220 total after posting a final round 78. The top 10 showing was the second straight for the Irvine, Calif., native after earning her first win in the squad’s last outing at the Johnie Imes Invitational.

Sophomore Hillary Wood and freshman Josephine Janson each finished with 227 totals and tied for 15th. Wood wrapped up play with an 80, while Janson carded the squad’s low round of the day with a 74.

Junior Jocelyn Alford posted an 83 on Wednesday to finish at 233 and tied for 37th place.

Freshman Jade Staggs wrapped up her first career start with a 77 to tie for 62nd place at 242.

The Cowgirls will conclude their fall slate on Oct. 22 when they take part in the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C.
