Crosstown Teachers Learning

Crosstown Learning Center, a non-profit early care and learning program, has partnered with Bacone College, the Sarkeys Foundation, and the Cuesta Foundation to equip their staff with college degrees. Seven teachers are currently enrolled in this program.

Thanks to a generous grant of $116,000 from the Sarkeys Foundation and a $99,000 grant from the Cuesta Foundation, Crosstown Learning Center is providing staff scholarships of tuition, books, and fees to complete bachelor’s degrees in child development through Bacone College.

“Early Childhood Development and the wonderful kids at Crosstown are the real winners in this partnership,” states Lou Fitch, board president. “The generosity of Sarkeys Foundation will enable our teaching staff to achieve the highest level of professional and personal gratification.”

“The opportunity to receive support from these two foundations means a great deal to our center,” says Debbi Guifoyle, Executive Director. “The commitment to Crosstown and to the children is evident each and every day.”
