District Schools Participate in Revolutionary Days
TULSA, Okla. – Three elementary schools in the Tulsa Public Schools system are taking part in Revolutionary Days, an educational event giving students a taste of colonial-era life in America.
The extravaganza being held today at TU features actors portraying Martha Washington and Ben Franklin, a debate between Loyalists and Patriots and period costume.
Revolutionary Days is the brainstorm of teachers Beth Howard and Dessa Webber. The duo came up with the idea after observing similar events in Williamsburg, Virginia and Oklahoma City. Students from Mark Twain, Kendall-Whittier and Skelly elementary schools are attending.
