Dobbs Named Big 12 Player of the Week


NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma senior Dani Dobbs (Moore, Okla.) has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. The honor comes following her performance at the Judi Garman Classic this past week.

Dobbs helped lead Oklahoma to a 4-2 record at the Judi Garman Classic with wins over DePaul, Pacific, No. 7 Arizona and No. 4 Washington. She hit. 526 on the week (10-for-19) with five runs scored and 10 . Dobbs recorded two doubles and three home runs for a 1.105 slugging percentage and totaled 21 bases in six games.

She drew one walk and registered no strikeouts for a .550 on-base percentage. Dobbs was clutch for the Sooners, hitting .500 on the week with two outs and runners in scoring position (4-for-8). She also advanced 12 runners in 17 tries for a .706 percentage.

Dobbs also recorded her first career grand slam against Pacific on March 18 and recorded a career-high five in the game.
