Donations Needed for American Red Cross

HELPING OTHERS: Those in the area are encouraged to donated their unwanted cars to the American Red Cross.
A little-known option is available to those wanting to give to the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross accepts donations of cars, motorcycles, recreational vehicles and boats. It even takes care of picking up the donated vehicle.
The process is simple with just a few rules. Anyone wanting to donate a vehicle can start by calling the Tulsa Regional Chapter at 918-831-1120. If the donor has a clear title and the vehicle has no major body damage, the donor will be asked to come to the chapter office at 10151 E. 11th Street, Tulsa, to complete paperwork and sign the title over to the American Red Cross.
Within a week, the American Red Cross will pick up the donated vehicle, running or not.
Once the vehicle is sold, the American Red Cross will send the donor an acknowledgement of the donation in the amount of the selling price.
The service is a win-win. The donor has a simple way to dispose of an unwanted vehicle; the American Red Cross is able to use the proceeds to benefit those suffering a loss after a home fire or other disaster.
Information on how to donate is available at www.okredcross.org under the donate tab.
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization – not a government agency – and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
