Donations Being Accepted for KOTV’s 5th Annual ‘Project Warmth’
The News on 6’s “Project Warmth” returns for the fifth year to help provide people in need a bit of protection against Oklahoma’s winter weather. Gently used blankets, quilts and comforters can be dropped off through Jan. 31 at any of the 11 area LaMode Cleaners locations or five Western Sun Federal Credit Union locations.
Since 2004, more than 12,000 blankets, quilts and comforters have been donated to “Project Warmth,” which is a partnership between the News on 6, LaMode Cleaners, Western Sun Federal Credit Union and Volunteers of America Oklahoma. LaMode cleans and repairs donated blankets while Volunteers of America Oklahoma distribute them to area shelters, agencies and individuals.
Cash donations are also being accepted. Make checks payable to “Neighbors in Need” and earmark “Project Warmth.” Mail to The News on 6, Project Warmth, P.O. Box 6, Tulsa, OK 74101. Money donated will go to Volunteers of America Oklahoma through the Tulsa Community Foundation to purchase new blankets to distribute to those in need.
A complete list of drop off locations can be found at www.kotv.com.
Agencies or ministries with clients in need should call the VOA at 307-1500.
