Tulsa area media honoree judges selected winners for the Hillcrest Medical Center and Tulsa Health Department’s 2nd annual “Don’t Bug Me” flu prevention campaign elementary school poster contest.

The “Don’t Bug Me” educational campaign creates an awareness regarding the importance of hand washing as a way to reduce the number of flu cases among children and adults. This is the third year the successful campaign has been held.

The poster contest was divided into two categories: kindergarten – 3rd grade, and 4th – 6th grade. The winner for the Kindergarten – 3rd grade is Hunter Evans, a 3rd grader at Skiatook Intermediate School in Skiatook. The 4th – 6th grade winner is True Ngo, a 5th grader at Jarman School, Union Public Schools.

Both winners will receive a portable DVD player and a $25 video gift card. Their poster designs will be made into next year’s coloring sheets that are distributed to elementary schools in northeast Oklahoma. Approximately 180 posters from 60 schools were entered by students for the contest.
