Long summer evenings in Tulsa invite us to spend our time outdoors. As the sun starts to set, the temps cool off and being outside is a real pleasure. A great way to spend some outdoor time soaking up some culture, and fading sun rays, is downtown at the Greens between the Crowne Plaza and the Tulsa .

The Crowne Plaza is a sponsor of the Downtown Cine Series, a weekly summer series of free film and music events held on the first Wednesday evening of each month through October.

All that’s needed to enjoy the event is a blanket or, if you get there late and can’t grab one of the available chairs, a chair. Show up at 7:30 p.m. for some free musical entertainment provided by a local band each month. Movies are shown on a big screen under the stars starting at 8:30 (or so) p.m. It’s easy to turn the evening into “dinner and a movie” because the Crowne Plaza’s premier restaurant, The Daily Grill, offers all sorts of appealing things to snack on such as fresh grilled hotdogs, tasty oversized pretzels, buttery hot popcorn, beer, soda and bottled water. Hungrier folks can stroll over to the Daily Grill and enjoy a full meal on the restaurant’s patio, or inside if preferred.

Marlin Keranen, general manager, Crowne Plaza, says, “We’re pleased to be a sponsor of the Downtown Cine Series. It’s a very pleasant and relaxing way to spend a Wednesday evening. There’s a lot to do and enjoy in downtown Tulsa, and the Greens is an ideal location for the Cine Series with excellent proximity to the Crowne Plaza’s numerous services and amenities.” Keranen says the Crowne Plaza is continuously evaluating and implementing creative ways to enhance its services and offerings in order to provide its guests, both out-of-town and locals, the best possible experience when they visit. Keranen also points out that the Crowne Plaza has become a real resource for Tulsans as a destination for meetings, events, luxury spa treatments, parties, affordable luxury weekend getaways and more.

From the Crowne Plaza and the Greens, visitors and staycationers alike can walk to the hot new Mexican restaurant, Elote or sit atop El Guapo’s roof with a margarita and a sunset.
