City Surface Drainage personnel are clearing roadside ditches to improve drainage on South Elwood Avenue between West 81st Street and West 91st Street. The road will be closed to traffic at the locations where crews are removing sand and silt from the ditches.

This drainage maintenance will continue until Friday, July 30. Access will remain open to the R.L. Jones Airport and other area businesses as well as residential areas.

Also near the construction area on South Yale Avenue between East 31st Street and East 36th Street:
On Wednesday, July 28, at 9 a.m., East 36th Street will be closed east of Yale Avenue for placement of concrete over a newly installed waterline connection at 36th and Yale. This closure will last until 6 a.m. Saturday, July 31. A detour will direct motorists around this road closure.

This is part of a street rehabilitation project that includes South Yale Avenue between East 31st Street and East 36th Street, as well as the completed work on East 41st Street between South Sheridan Road and Interstate 44.
