Dress for Success

STEPPING UP: Dress for Success Tulsa will hold its Annual Fashion Show and Auction, “Step Up To Success” Friday, Sept. 14 at the Greenwood Cultural Center, 322 N. Greenwood Ave. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a silent auction, cocktails and dinner which includes a wide array of food selections presented by Chef Mark Michalski and Tulsa-area restaurants.

Chera Kimiko, anchor from Fox 23 will be the evening’s emcee for Dress for Success, Tulsa’s annual fashion show and auction Sept. 14. Executive men and women representing area businesses will be modeling the latest fashions, accessories, and cosmetics from Dillard’s in Woodland Hills Mall, complemented by hair styling from Ihloff Salon.

Models include Katherine Anderson, Cancer Treatment Centers of America; Jim Boucher, Consulting, ; Sheryl Chinowth, Chinowth & Cohen Realtors; Greg Johnson, Samson Investment Company; Sean Kouplen, Regent Bank; David Pennington, Magellan Midstream Partners; Cassie Reese, Crossland Construction Company and Ingrid Sadler, State Farm Insurance.

Paula Marshall, chair/CEO of The Bama Companies will serve as the evening’s keynote speaker. Paula was named the of her family’s business in 1985. She is an accomplished author and speaker and wrote her first book in 2009, “Finding the Soul of Big Business.” She released her fourth book, “Sweet as Pie, Tough as Nails: How a Teen-Mom Turned Faced Giant Obstacles in Her Life and Business” in 2011.

The event will include items from a live and silent auction, including packages of trips to favorite destinations, spas, golf courses, sports and entertainment, hotels and restaurants. There will also be antiques and collectibles from Charles Faudree, TA Lorton, Miss Jackson’s and wine tours hosted by Kristal Limo.

Tax-deductible table sponsorships are available at $1,200 for premier seating and $1,000. Individual tickets are $75 per person. The Mission of Dress for Success Tulsa is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional business attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help them thrive in work and life. Women are referred to Dress for Success Tulsa by more than 125 nonprofit, government, shelter, college and technical institutions and are never charged for the services provided. Dress for Success Tulsa has extended its services to over 1,533 women this past year and since its inception in 2001 has served thousands of women in the Tulsa and surrounding communities statewide.
