Dressing Those Less Fortunate

STUDENT DRIVEN: Seventh graders at Thoreau Demonstration Academy make dresses for girls in Africa. Upon learning of countries such as Malawi, students decided to create a project that provides dresses for young girls living in countries of extreme poverty. Students and parents have donated supplies, with the project being funded completely by Thoreau parents and students. The goal is to send over 200 dresses this year and to make this an annual seventh-grade project at the school.
