Elote Café Benefits United Way
Elote Café owner and Chef Libby Auld announced recently that Bank Of Oklahoma will be the title sponsor for the second annual Luchapooloza. This year’s event will benefit the Tulsa Area United Way. Set for Saturday, Oct. 1, Luchapooloza is an outdoor street party and festival featuring the popular Elote Luchadors. The Luchadors (Mexican masked wrestlers) have gained a cult-like following since their debut at the restaurant in May of 2010.
“The wrestling nights at Elote have become so popular that last year we decided to make a street festival,” says Auld. “Our first year alone we had over 3,000 people attend the event. This year with the help of Bank of Oklahoma and , we are hoping for an even larger turnout.”
Blocking off Boston Avenue between Fifth and Sixth Streets, Luchapooloza begins at 4 p.m. and will have 12 wrestling matches, four live bands, children’s activities, food and more. The event is kid friendly until 8 p.m. and concludes at midnight.
Details such as the headlining band will be announced at a later date. Cost to attend is five dollars per person, with children 12 and under free. For more information visit www.elotetulsa.com.
