Excelencia Awards

PROGESANDO JUNTOS: “Progressing Together for a Better Future??? was the theme of the Sixth Annual Excelencia Awards Dinner, held at the DoubleTree Hotel at Warren Place on March 2. The Greater Tulsa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GTHCC) gives out these awards to local individuals and companies that assist in the growth of Hispanic businesses. From left are Honorary Chair Tom McKeon, president and CEO of Tulsa Community College; Lori Santiago, GTHCC chairman of the board; Guest Speaker Claudia San Pedro, director of the Office of State Finance; and Edward Slattery, Bishop of Tulsa, who gave the invocation. The Advance Award for the Hispanic Business of the year was given to Anthony Perez of Perez Pump and Seal. The Bendana Amigo Award for the Community leader of the year was given to Schnake Turnbo Frank and accepted by Russ Florence; and the Adelante Award for Corporate Partner of the Year was given to Bank of America and accepted by Becky Heath. An overview of the GTHCC was given by Fred Ramos, president.
