Fall Fashions are Rich, Lavish

Styles created by designers for fall 2007 start with rich colors like deep burgundys, dark greens, vivid blues and bright hues of hot pinks and intense purples. They end with the texturing of these find fabrics in velvet, corduroy, herringbone and tweed. The looks are luxuriant, opulent and lavish.
Layering is key from tights to vests, trenches to essential underpinnings. Accessories are a must and include elbow gloves, fur accents and scarves of silks and wool. Polished, shiny footwear and handbags in sequins, patent and python add shimmering touches. Top it all off with the most prominent and newest runway accessory, a short-brimmed hat.
The key items this season are glamorous minis, structured separates and femme fatale-inspired eveningwear and tailored pieces for day. It’s important to know how to balance the hard with the soft, touch bags with relaxed dresses and short skirts with mod boots.
Get tailored and totally on trend with a velvet blazer, shrunken and nipped at the waist with design details such as covered buttons, ribbon waist ties and draped sleeves. To add more sophistication, try an A-line jacket. Just graze the hips and go no shorter with a three-quarter-length sleeve and one or two button closures. Make sure it’s fitted through the bust and shoulder area but roomy in the torso. For a tougher look, motorcycle jackets are all the rage. The supple leather and subtle details provided by this look will surely rev some engines, especially in fire engine red, black patent and bright pumpkin orange. Slopes anyone? The puff jacket is a new twist on the North Face original in shrunken styles and bright gemstone colors. It will make any girl feel like a ski bunny without leaving her home.
Bottoms away! No really, let’s put the bottoms away, denim ones, anyway. The new trend for denim is colored, high waisted or skinny-legged. If you must wear denim, try a new trend. There are so many new fashions and fabulous styles in trousers and skirts that most fashionista’s attention will be turned in a new direction. Cash in on the classics. For pants, the wide-legged trouser is back and bolder than ever. Pencil and circle skirts provide the ultimate elegance neatly paired and tailored with a stylish new jacket over a silky camisole, crisp cotton button shirt or silk scarf tie blouse.
Keep style simplistic. Wear the clothes, but don’t let them wear you. Buy into accessories; they are what keep a look current and set individual style.
The bottom line for fall is you don’t have to be rich to look rich. You just have to know how to put yourself together and follow a few simple rules. Learn how to dress for your body type. Put yourself out there and set yourself apart. Don’t be afraid to wear something different. Follow these guidelines and you’ll not only look rich this fall, you’ll feel rich too.
