First National’s Derek Steeley Receives Scholarship to LSU

Derek Steeley, Senior Lending Officer for the First National Bank & Trust Co. of Broken Arrow, has been selected to receive a scholarship to the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
This award is part of the Oklahoma Bankers Association’s continuing education initiative and involves a three-year course designed to help management personnel prepare themselves to meet the changing world of banking.
Steeley earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma and is now engaged in what has become a quarter-century career in the financial services industry. He is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association’s Advanced National Commercial Lending School and OBA’s Intermediate School.
Prior to joining First National of Broken Arrow in 2012 as a senior vice president, he had served various roles in banks in Oklahoma and Texas. Since becoming part of the bank’s senior management team, he has been involved with Leadership Broken Arrow, the Broken Arrow Rotary Club, Tail Life Troop 316 and served on the board of Broken Arrow Seniors, Inc.
First National opened its doors in 1902 in what is now downtown Broken Arrow. In more than 117 years of providing trusted banking services to the community, only four chairmen have headed the institution. First National has three full-service locations in Broken Arrow, employs 51 people and is the oldest family-owned bank originated in Tulsa County.
