“Nosak Raw,” the first reality show produced in Tulsa, made its debut in late December on Tulsa’s CBS affiliate, KOTV 6.
In addition to being a first for the city, the series is the first reality show to focus on the life-threatening industry of cutting and caring for trees.
Tree-related work is the most hazardous occupation in an already dangerous field. The 2003 fatality rate for workers providing landscaping services was more than three times the rate for workers in all industries, according to a Department of Labor Statistics.
“This show documents us tackling the deadliest vegetation on the planet,” says Nosak Tree Services CEO Paul Nosak. “I try to live my live without regrets and I’m not afraid of failure.”
Produced by Nosak, the series highlights the extreme perils of the occupation while providing guidance to Tulsans on how to safely maintain their trees. Tulsans will see the crew working in real situations in their own city.
Airing on the heels of a historic ice storm that paralyzed the Midwest, Nosak has designated three minutes of his first few shows to produce a question-answer segment. Tulsans will receive valuable information on issues such as financial assistance for storm damages, safety tips and other important resources.
Future shows will include footage of crews working to restore the state following the early December ice storm.
