Forbes Names ONB Parent Top Ten Bank in the Nation

EXCELLENT BANK: Tulsa-based ONB Bank is part of the top-performing Central Bancompany, a Missouri-based bank holding company. This is the ONB location in Tulsa at 91st Street and South Yale Avenue.


Forbes recognized Central Bancompany as one of America’s top 10 best performing banks in a review of the nation’s 100 largest financial institutions. Central Bancompany, a Missouri-based bank holding company, ranked number eight. “We are pleased and honored to be recognized by Forbes as one of America’s top 10 banks,” says Bryan Cook, Central Bancompany . “We have held steadfast to our mission of ensuring we provide strong community bank management, while offering our customers leading edge financial products and superior service.”

Forbes partnered with Financial to determine the rankings, which were based on eight criteria; return on average equity, net interest margin, non-performing loans, non-performing assets, reserves, a leverage ratio and two capital ratios.

Cook further stated, “Though economic conditions may be uncertain, our steady, even-handed approach to business is rooted in our Midwestern values and centered on the growth and success of the customers and communities we serve. This recognition is a testament to the dedication of the over 2,600 employees in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois and Oklahoma who serve our customers through 13 full service community banks and affiliates in 66 communities.”

This is the second time Central Bancompany received recognition in 2009 having also been named a top 25 performing bank by Banking Journal in May 2009.
