Former Principal Chief Wilma Mankiller Memorial Service Announced
TAHLEQUAH -Okla. – The memorial service for former Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Wilma Mankiller will be held at the Cherokee Nation Cultural Grounds at 11 a.m., Saturday April 10.
Credentialed media are invited to attend and will have a designated section for seating. Media are encouraged to check in and receive credentials by 10 a.m. Media packets and credentials will be distributed at check-in. After 10:30 a.m., vehicular access to the grounds will be limited, and all media must be checked in and in place before that time. Space in the media designated section is first come, first served. Please allow for heavy traffic when planning your arrival. Check-in area will be marked and located on the southwest corner of the grounds. Internet access will be available in the main Tribal Complex.

Directions from Tulsa:
Take Muskogee Turnpike to Hwy 62 East
Exit Hwy 62 East at the Tahlequah/Ft. Gibson exit
Travel East approximately 15 miles
Pass Sequoyah High School and the Cherokee Nation Tribal Complex on the right
Turn right (south) at S. Bald Hill Road (S. 510 Rd).
Travel south approximately 1 mile, past Talking Leaves Job Corps
Turn right (east) on W. 810 Rd.
Travel approximately 1 mile; Cultural Grounds are on the left hand side of the road.
