Former Mayors Hosted in Summit

Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor convened seven of the previous Tulsa Mayors Sept. 29 for a roundtable discussion on city government issues and operations. The historic event was held at the Summit Club in downtown Tulsa.
The mayors participating in the dialogue spanned five decades of service. They included Mayor Taylor, Bill LaFortune, Rodger Randle, Robert LaFortune, Susan Savage, Dick Crawford, Terry Young and James Hewgley, Jr.
The eight mayors discussed a myriad of issues from municipal financing to beautification of the city. Mayor Taylor said she plans to reconvene the mayors several times during her administration in order to draw from their experiences in handling similar issues and challenges facing Tulsa.
The former mayors said they enjoyed the camaraderie and all agree that Tulsa is headed in a positive direction.
