Friedrich, Rosario Named To MLB’s Futures Game
The Futures Game is played in conjunction with and at the site of the Major League All-Star Game. It is televised by the ESPN Networks.
Prior to this season, the 21-year-old Rosario was named by Baseball America as the 4th best prospect in the Colorado Rockies minor league system. 2010 marks his fifth year in professional baseball. In the first-half of this season, Rosario hit .264 for the Drillers with 8 home runs, tying him for the team lead.The 22-year-old Friedrich enter this season as the 2nd best prospect in Colorado’s farm system. The lefthander was the Rockies first round pick (25th overall) in the 2008 June draft. Friedrich suffered through a tough first-half of the season with the Drillers, finishing 0-5 with a 4.58 ERA.
Rosario and Friedrich join an impressive list of Drillers’ players that have participated in the Futures Game since its inception in 1999. Past Futures Game participants from the Drillers have included Carlos Pena, Jeff Francis, Dexter Fowler, Jhoulys Chacin, Chin-hui Tsao and others.
