Georgia House & Senate Honor Widespread Panic

NASHVILLE, TN – To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of legendary band Widespread Panic, the State of Georgia’s House of Representatives and Senate have put forth Resolutions to be passed in honor of the Athens, GA sextet. On February 15, members of Widespread Panic will stand before the General Assembly to be recognized and honored for their music, service, charity and longevity. This honor has been also bestowed on Georgia music legends, and fellow Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductees Ray Charles and James Brown.

Widespread Panic will continue their anniversary celebration throughout 2011, with new announcements along the way. For the first time, Widespread Panic will be performing during the South By Southwest music conference in Austin, TX on March 17 as part of a taping for Austin City Limits that will be open to badge and wristband holders. This performance will be the first-ever joint SXSW showcase and Austin City Limits program taping. “We’ve had Widespread Panic on ACL twice, but we wanted to do something special with them for their 25th anniversary,” said ACL Series Executive Producer Terry Lickona.
After 25 years, Widespread Panic continue to be one of the top touring acts in the country, playing to packed houses and setting attendance records throughout the US. Their annual spring tour was recently announced. Go to
