Gibson Leaves Central to Coach Webster Football
(TULSA, Okla. – ) Former Golden Hurricane Don Gibson has taken the head football coaching position at Webster High School.
Webster’s new coach is a former University of Tulsa cornerback with experience in coaching at the collegiate and high school ranks.
Gibson, a native of Mississippi, attended Southwest Mississippi Community College from 1999-2000 and TU from 2001-2002. He was the defensive backs coach at the University of West Georgia from 2006-2007 and most recently coached Tulsa Central High School’s varsity team.
The webster Warriors have posted losing records for the past several seasons, but Gibson says he’s optimistic. “It’s an exciting time,” Gibson said. “I think it’s a tremendous opportunity and I look forward to it. With the kids Webster has, we can do something very special.”
