Gibson Named Summit League Track Athlete of the Week

ELHMURST, Ill. – Oral Roberts freshman Jeffery Gibsonearned Summit League Track and Field Male Athlete of the Week honors, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Gibson claims his first Athlete of the Week award after earning a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash over the weekend at the John McDonnell Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. Gibson clocked a time of 46.84, which currently ranks 27th  nationally and first in league action.

The Freeport, Bahamas, native also anchored the winning 4×400 relay team, which posted a time of 3:09.98 to edge out No. 18 Arkansas. 

The Golden Eagles will bring a full squad to the John Jacobs Invitational in Norman, Okla., on Saturday.
