Girl Scout Ambassador Helps Mothers
Currently, one in five children in Oklahoma lives in poverty, which is why Girl Scout Ambassador Miranda McClung is devoting her Gold Award project to collecting vital supplies for infants and children in crisis or emergency situations.
Miranda will host a community baby shower on May 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Emergency Infant Services, 222 South Houston Avenue in Tulsa, where she will collect supplies for children in need. She is asking that community members donate baby wipes, diapers, Good Start formula, pull-ups and bottles to be distributed to families by several community agencies in Tulsa.
Miranda hopes that by highlighting the ongoing and urgent need for these essential goods, she will make a very real, and long lasting difference in the lives of Tulsa families.
