Glamour of Today

If the pirate girl looks we’ve discussed so far for fall leave you feeling like you’ve gone down with the ship and the thought of becoming an urban cowgirl doesn’t make you want to kick up your boots, you’re in luck. I know you want to feel pretty, chic, even glamorous.
Welcome to fall 2005! If you’re not using style as a form of self-expression, this season would be a great time to start. Each season you have a choice, a chance to re-invent yourself. Which styles do I want to buy into? What message do I want to convey? What first impression do I want to give? How do I want to feel? With this season’s rich colors, feminine accessories and ultra fine detailing you can be left feeling glamorously- girlie, femininely-flirty, or sheepishly-chic. Of course we’re dealing with the glamour of today so the trends are bound to have a few new twists perfect for 2005. Turn bohemian grunge into grandma chic by combining vintage looking sweaters and shrunken corduroy or brocade jackets with pencil or mermaid skirts or tweeded cuffed gaucho slacks. Add feminine touches like a belt and oversized clutch. Wear with sleek boots or peek-a-boo slingbacks. A must-have glamour piece for fall is lace. Try an Edwardian style blouse (usually high-necked and buttoned or with folds of lace coming down from the neck) on for size or a tunic overlay with butterfly sleeves. Stay pretty and polished by pairing your lace with round-toe ladylike pumps, a structured velvet blazer and straight trousers. Also, try a cropped and fitted vest in wool, tweed or velvet super sexy when paired with denim.
Look for romantic blouses that tie around the neck or the sleeves. Wear knotted instead of in a bow for a stronger contrast from woman to girlie. Always be sure to add the appropriate accessories which could always make or break an ensemble. Whatever styles you choose to buy into this fall or however you decide to convey your look you will have plenty of choices. From clean straight leg or wide leg high-waist trousers to round toe t-straps or flats with a pointed toe the possibilities are as endless as the glamour you can create by combining these feminine but powerful statements of style.
