Golden Eagles Cruise Past South Dakota State, 4-1

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Oral Roberts men’s tennis team rolled past South Dakota State by a score of 4-1 in the second game of a doubleheader on Friday in Kansas City, Mo. The Golden Eagles improved to 4-1 in Summit League play with the victory.

ORU’s duo of Mikhail Trukshanin and Igor Sobolta led off doubles play with an 8-4 win over Dominic Rossetto and Jamie Dash at the top spot, while the Golden Eagle tandem of Dmitry Suslov and Dario Beslic secured the opening point with an 8-4 win over Corey Paluch and Evan Sims at the No. 2 position.

Sobolta was first to get ORU on the board in singles play with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Justin Pyle at the No. 2 slot, while Beslic followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win against Dash at the No. 4 position.

Trukshanin finished the match off by defeating Paluch at the top spot by a score of 7-5, 6-3.

The Golden Eagles face UMKC on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
