Golden Eagles Finish Second at Summit League Indoor Championships

FARGO, N.D. – The Oral Roberts University men’s and women’s track and field teams both finished second at the Summit League Indoor Championships at the Bison Sports Arena.

Senior Rachel Talbert (Newton, Kan.) was named the Women’s Field Championships MVP, while freshman Jack Whitt (Norman, Okla.) was named the Men’s Newcomer of the Championships.

After claiming the weight throw event on Sunday, Talbert posted a second-place showing in the shot put with a mark of 14.24 meters.

Fellow senior Katie Stoever continued her strong season with a win in the pole vault. Stoever, a native of Tulsa, posted a NCAA provisional mark of 3.95 meters.

LaTanya Short also highlighted action in the field events with a second-place showing in the triple jump (12.03 meters).

The women’s 4×400-meter relay team of Whitney MillsTK Whitfield, Marrisa Thomas andCornesha Wilkerson raced to a first-place finish with a time of 3:51.29.

On the men’s side, two Golden Eagles claimed individual wins, as Marvin Bonde clocked a time of 6.84 in the 60-meter dash, while Fredrick Brown posted a mark of 14.89 meters in the triple jump.

The 4×400-meter relay team also took the top spot, as Jeramy RobertsClive ChafausipoMichael Roberts and Jeffery Gibson teamed up to post a time of 3:17.58.
