Golden Eagles Post Shutout Wins Over IUPUI, Oakland

Against the Jaguars, ORU’s Kristin Gray (Tulsa, Okla.) andAna Costa (Brasilia, Brazil) teamed up to defeat Jesika Bays and Bailey Maryfield by a score of 8-2 at the No. 2 position, while the Golden Eagle tandem of Ekaterina Kondrashova(Moscow, Russia) and Tori Dollar (Waxahachie, Texas) clinched the doubles point with an 8-5 victory over Janet Seng and Alisha Cummings at the bottom spot.

ORU relied on victories at the bottom three singles positions to clinch the match. Costa blanked Ashley Casket, 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 4 slot, while Kondrashova posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Seng at the No. 5 spot. Dollar rounded out the scoring for ORU with a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Bays at the No. 6 position. 

The Golden Eagles also recorded wins at the bottom two doubles positions to clinch the opening point against Oakland. Gray and Costa blanked the Golden Grizzlie duo of Jackie Dinicu and Gabrielle Gogas, 8-0, while Dollar and Kondrashova cruised past Amanda Pettey and Caryn Shermaetaro by a score of 8-2.

ORU notched straight-set victories at all six singles matches for the 7-0 victory over the Golden Grizzlies.

The Golden Eagles continue play against IPFW on 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
