Goodwill Industries of Tulsa has opened a new donation center in Broken Arrow at 5054 E. Kenosha St. (Located at Kenosha and 225th East Ave.)

The hours of operation for this site are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. An attendant will be on duty during business hours to assist with unloading and providing a receipt.

A ribbon cutting was held with the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce on Oct. 25 at the donation site. The public was asked to bring a bag of donations and learn how Goodwill turns these items into jobs.

Goodwill strives to make the donation experience as convenient as possible for donors. The new storefront donation center recognizes the need for expansion as the organization continues to reach out into areas that did not previously have a Goodwill presence.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of donors in the community, money generated from the resale of donated items helped more than 5,700 people with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions receive job training, case management services and employment opportunities needed to become productive members of the workforce in our community.

Donations to Goodwill of items in good used condition or better are tax deductible and receipts are available at all Goodwill donation sites. To claim a tax deduction for donated items, donors should keep itemized lists of their donations. For more information on “how to donate” to Goodwill, contact the Donation Line at 918-581-1200 or visit the website at www.goodwilltulsa.org.
