Up With Trees recently welcomed Cheryl A. Waldeck as its new executive director.

Waldeck has a background in both the arts and health care, as well as non-profit and for-profit organizations. For the past seven years she held the post of director of special projects for the dean at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Tulsa. At OU, she gained experience in strategic planning, operational policy, large educational events and faculty development. Waldeck is also a consultant in leadership development (www.cherylawaldeck.com). She specializes in feedback, meeting management and focused conversations, developing and sustaining trust, and other methodologies focused on building leadership capacity.

Prior to OU, she was the Northeast Oklahoma Director for the Fit Kids Coalition, a child advocacy organization based in Oklahoma City. Waldeck also led the marketing efforts for Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa for 10 years.
Waldeck holds a master’s degree from OU in health and human service, a fellowship in relationship-centered administration from the International Leadership Institute, and has completed additional doctorate-level course work focused on team learning and emotional intelligence. Additionally, she is a trained facilitator, lobbyist, project manager and LEAN efficiency champion.

Dewberry, a privately-held professional services firm, has promoted Dave Huey, AIA, LEED AP, to senior principal in the Tulsa office. Huey has more than 25 years of experience in the design of new and expanded facilities for medical, educational, military, and private-sector clients. Currently, Huey is responsible for providing specialized expertise and overall project direction with an emphasis on healthcare architecture. Huey earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree in architecture from Oklahoma State University. He is very active in the Tulsa area having served on the board of directors for Preservation Oklahoma, The Margaret Hudson Program, and the American Red Cross. He is also a member of the Oklahoma State University – Tulsa Campus President’s Council, Oklahoma State University School of Architecture Professional Advisory Committee, Harding University President’s Council, and Harding University’s Department of Art and Design Professional Advisory Committee. Huey is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and the U.S. Green Building Council.
Jim Marvel and Myron L. Pope, Ph.D., have been named to the Board of Directors of Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI).

Marvel is vice president of Great Plains Coca-Cola Bottling Company and was recently named president of the Oklahoma Beverage Association. He has worked with Coca-Cola for 25 years in roles that allowed him to gain leadership experience in sales, marketing, operations and shared services.

Pope is University of Central Oklahoma’s vice president of Enrollment Management and interim assistant vice president of Student Affairs. He has worked at the University of Alabama and University of Oklahoma in faculty and administrative roles. He serves on the regional and national levels of many professional organizations involved with higher learning. Pope is already active on several community boards including the Edmond Chamber of Commerce and the YMCA.

Saxum, an integrated marketing communications agency offering public relations, advertising and digital services, recently announced the hiring of Matt Reiswig as director of interactive strategy in the agency’s Tulsa office.

As director of interactive strategy, Reiswig is responsible for designing and managing the creation of compelling interactive digital experiences from idea to launch.

Reiswig previously served as creative director at Blueview and associate creative director at Brothers & Co. He was also creative director at Creative State and senior designer at Winnercomm. In his 16 years of experience, including 13 years dedicated to web development, he has created more than 200 websites and worked with clients, such as Taylor Swift, ESPN, Coca-Cola, Garth Brooks and ONEOK. Reiswig is a graduate of the University of Tulsa with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication.

Rex PR, an integrated public relations and marketing firm, has announced Nicole Morgan, APR, as partner and COO.

Morgan, who has been with the firm nine years, will continue to lead planning efforts for Rex’s clients as well as firm operations. At Rex, Morgan has led a variety of projects, including events drawing more than 60,000 people, product launches, rebranding initiatives and brand positioning efforts. She has helped Rex PR win more than 30 awards, including three Best of Show designations. In 2009, Morgan received the Young Professional of the Year award from the Public Relations Society of America-Tulsa.

She currently serves as a board member for the Tulsa Ballet, vice president of its strategic planning committee, communications chair for Heritage United Methodist Church and volunteer for the Tulsa Regional Chamber’s Resource Campaign.
Pray Walker announced the addition of two associates to its energy law group.

Michael May will focus in the areas of energy law and title examination. He brings significant experience in oil and gas title examination to the firm and is an active member of the American Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, Oklahoma Independent Producers Association, American Association of Professional Landmen, Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen and Young Professionals in Energy.

Cody A. Thomas will also focus on the areas of energy law and title examination. He joins the firm after working for a land services company and is an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, Tulsa Association of Petroleum Landmen, Oklahoma City Mineral Lawyers Society and Oklahoma City Association of Petroleum Landmen.

Brandi Davidson Moore has joined the Child Abuse Network, Inc. as the Community Relations Manager. She was previously employed by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Moore comes to CAN with ten years of marketing and nonprofit experience, and lots of enthusiasm and ideas for creating community awareness of CAN’s programs and services.

Susan L. Gross was elected president of the Child Abuse Network’s board of directors at their annual meeting in June. Other officers include President-elect Adrienne L. Barnett, Norman Wohlgemuth Chandler & Jeter; Secretary Rebecca Thompson, AAON, Inc.; Treasurer T. Carley Williams, BKD, LLP; and past president Mike Rhoads, Oklahoma Insurance Department. Barbara E. Findeiss serves as CAN’s executive director.
