Bixby Rotary Sponsors German Student

Rotary Club of Bixby is sponsoring an exchange student this school year. Elisa Hattendorf, from Oldenburg, Germany, is attending Bixby High School and learning about life in the U.S. She will live with three different host families throughout the year to get a more comprehensive view of life here. Her first host mom, Tristy Fryer, says “Elisa has been an easy addition to our family. We all enjoy learning about her German culture and she is embracing our American ways.”
Elisa is involved in many high school activities including tennis, Interact Club, Leadership class and Student council. Her favorite adventures so far have been wakeboarding at Lake Eufaula and participating in the Young Life Mud Volleyball Tournament.
