GTR Student Athlete of the Month

The Student Athlete of the Month is Lynley Fox of Riverfield Country Day School.
Fox is a co-captain of the Riverfield basketball team and has lettered in the sport since her sophomore year. She is class president and holds a 4.0 . Fox was a member of the National Junior Honor Society in 8th grade and a member of the National Honor Society since her sophomore year.
Fox’s athletic prowess and mental fortitude has her a leader on her team. She helped as an assistant at the 2009 Riverfield basketball camp. She was awarded the Team Sportsmanship Award at the 2008 Metro Tournament where she also was crowned as the tournament’s shooting contest champion. Fox’s performance at the 2010 Summit Christian Tournament earned her a spot on the All-Tournament team.
“Lynley is a leader on and off the court. As a co-captain of the basketball team, she gets them fired up at practice and in games,” says head coach Tiffany Crowl.
On campus, Fox has been involved in student council and other important roles. She was a class representative as a freshman and served on the Principal’s Advisory council in 10th grade. Fox has been the business manager for the yearbook team for two years. She was a Counselor in Training for the Riverfield Raven Ramblers Summer Camp as well.
Fox is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. She has been a church camp youth leader the past two summers and has been the president of her young women’s group at church since she was 12.
Fox has traveled around Green Country to help clean up along roadsides and lake areas. She has also spent time at Inverness Village in the memory center helping and spending time with residents.
Fox applied to , , , Arkansas and for college. She was accepted to all of them. She has narrowed her choices down to and and plans to focus on accounting.
