GTR Student Athlete of the Month

JESSICA JACKSON

The November Greater Tulsa Reporter Student Athlete of the Month is Jessica Jackson of Jenks. Jackson is an outstanding athlete, exceptional student and an amazing contributor to her community.

Jackson is a two-year letter winner in cross country and three-year letter winner in track. She holds a 4.26 and has a rich resume of community involvement.

Academically, Jackson is a National Merit Semifinalist, an AP scholar with distinction and an academic all-state nominee. She received the Society of Women Engineers Certificate of Merit for Achievement in Mathematics and Science and the President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma High School Honor Society.

Jackson’s community involvement includes membership in the Jenks Key Club. She is an academic tutor and a religious education teacher and aid. She ran in the Relay for Life and has volunteered for the Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity.

As an athlete, Jackson has qualified for state every year of her career, and won two medals at last years state championship in track. She is co-captain of the cross country team and has earned all-conference honorable mention.

Jackson is a member of the Jenks America Track Team and has qualified for the Track and Field Junior Olympics Championship.
