Hats Off to Spring, Summer

KEEP COVERED: This summe, hats are a great accessory to add to wardrobes: They keep the sun off and style on. Summer scarves in vibrant colors, breezy tank tops and wedge heels are also popular hot-weather choices.

We all know what comes around goes around, especially in fashion. So what’s the fashion repeat offender this season?
Hats! Not any just run of the mill ball cap either. The new rhinestone authentic and certified collegiate cap in a variety of cobalt, kelly green, mustard or bright red are great for that Saturday dress down look, especially riding with the top down in Brookside, but I’m talking the latest trends, the type of hats you can wear out on a Saturday night with jeans and a fierce, sexy top or with a jean skirt and boots (which by the way is also quite a spring trend).

My favorite combo is a pair of high waisted jeans or shorts with wedges, a super soft jewel toned tank covered with an eyelet boxy undersized blazer or cardigan paired with overstated gold vintage one-of a-kind jewelry and the latest clutch in raffia or patent. These hats are detailed with ribbon or scarf like material running through the base of the hat making it available to fit any size head. They’re so versatile, you can tie it in a bow for more of a girly look or stream it along the side of your neck for an urban effect. Let your hair down or bunch it up in the hat. Perfect for short or long hair. Small brimmed adorned with rhinestones, bows with flecks of gold and silver reminiscent of stardust will put the dazzle in any dull ensemble.

As always, accessories are everything! With hot Oklahoma summers approaching, you could sport a different outfit on a daily basis with only a tank top, fabulous hat, clutch, jewelery, summer scarf or jacket. With the trendy bottom of your choice, you’ll be set! Try a different look and put yourself out there. Risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. Step out of your box for spring and summer fashion this year, but don’t forget: you can leave your hat on!
