Heart Walk Successful at LaFortune

The 2005 Tulsa Heart Walk had a successful venue this year under the chair leadership of Jody Abbott, vice-president/COO for Hillcrest Medical Center, as the event raised nearly $300,000 for the American Heart Association. The April 2 LaFortune Park walk was held outdoors for the first time.
Seven-year-old Alex McLain, who was born with a heart defect and had a heart operation when he was one year old, was this year’s Red Cap Survivor, a special group of dedicated advocates who have survived heart disease and become the spokespersons for the Heart Walk.
