Hillcrest Medical Center recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new, state-of the-art heart pavilion to be erected at the corner of 12th and Trenton in Tulsa. The new, 104 bed Hillcrest Heart Pavilion will be dedicated exclusively to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart problems.
The six-story, 160,000 square foot facility will cost $60 million, and will include a new four-story, 540 space parking garage adjacent to the facility.
The modern building design will connect to the main hospital, allowing patients easy access to the comprehensive health services offered by Hillcrest Medical Center’s hospital staff and specialists.
The facility’s design was influenced by input from physicians, nurses, staff, patients and their families, and is intended to offer a family-oriented healing environment. Large windows in both public spaces and patient rooms will allow natural sunlight to saturate nearly every area of the hospital, highlighting the facility’s soothing colors and warm wood tones.
The Hillcrest Heart Pavilion will offer extensive inpatient and outpatient services including a cardiovascular diagnostic center, cardiovascular interventional and electro-physiology laboratories, pre and post cardiac catheter lab procedure beds, a cardiovascular intensive care unit, 60 cardiac telemetry beds, a heart failure CARE Center and an education center.
The new cardiovascular diagnostic center’s services include echocardiography, vascular ultrasound imaging, electrocardiography, cardiac CT, MRI and nuclear imaging.
The Hillcrest Heart Pavilion will also incorporate the innovative ‘Art of Healing’ program already in use at Hillcrest Medical Center’s existing facility, which integrates music and art into the healing process.
The new Hillcrest Heart Pavillion is scheduled to open in early 2008 at 1120 S. Utica Ave., in Tulsa. For more information, visit the Hillcest Medical Center website at www.hillcrest.com.
