Hint Mint Announces ART FOR AWARENESS

Los AngelesJune 16, 2010-Hint Mint’s “Art For Awareness” Series is a unique fusion of art, philanthropy and confection. The inaugural tins in this new series will feature original artwork by two of LA’s most sought after artists, Josh “Shag” Agle and Lola.

100% of Hint Mint’s estimated profits (or $0.35 cents per tin) from this series will be donated to longtime partner Avon Walk For Breast Cancer. Both new tins will be available in limited quantities starting October 1st, perfectly timed to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Hint Mint has long been known for making the worlds most stylish breath mints, now sold by the finest retailers in over 40 countries. Two years after launching “the original designer mint”, the company’s Classic tins were so successful that co-founders Harley Cross and Cooper Bates wanted to expand beyond design and enter the realm of fine art. In 2001 they created the limited edition “Artist Series”. The company collaborates with renowned artists such as Shag (2005), Gary Baseman (2006), James Jean (2010) and others, to create Hint Mint inspired art to be printed on the patented, curved tin. The Artist Series has now expanded to include five different designs per year and limited edition printson metal.

Never wanting to be stylish without substance, Hint Mint has also been an active fundraiser for non-profit organizations through their “Awareness Series” program. In 2005, Hint Mint took the elegantly curved Classic Hint Mint tin and emblazoned it with the iconic Pink Ribbon (breast cancer awareness) and Red Ribbon (AIDS awareness). To date, the program has raised over $30,000, as well as raised awareness among countless people.

The “Art for Awareness” series is a new hybrid which embodies the ideals the company was founded on; a love of art and design, and a desire to help create a better world.”Everyone at Hint Mint is so proud and excited about this project. Not only can we donate a significant amount of money to Avon Walk, but the potential for each tin to promote and encourage awareness reaches far beyond the monetary donation. Every Hint Mint tin contains 35 mints. We hope the tins will be shared with as many people as possible, thereby sharing the artwork and the message… and of course themints!” says Hint Mint co-founder Cooper Bates.

With an estimated edition of 20,000 to 30,000 tins, the company hopes to touch nearly a million people with their message of hope.
