Hurricane Hoops Doles out the Fun

DANCE PARTY: D.J. Magley, no. 35, lauded by teammates after winning the Hoopfest dance contest after the Blue v. White Scrimmage.
The 2010-11 campaign for the University of Tulsa is the 100th year of basketball for the Hurricane. Tulsa’s Conference schedule will get started on the road at defending C- regular season champion .
This year, the C- scheduling format has changed and teams will play home-and-home within their division and will play the other division teams once each. There will not be divisional champions crowned during the regular season.
TU Head Coach Doug Wojcik comments, “We’ve always had different playing partners than what football and women’s basketball have had, but now our playing partners are the western schools. From a rivalry standpoint and fan base identification, it’s great for us that we have teams like Houston and Rice here every year that our fans can identify with. I think it’s exciting, from a rivalry standpoint that we’re consistent with football. We do miss and lose the Memphis game every year, but there’s continuity and consistency with this schedule.”
