Ihloff Salon & Day Spa Produces A Winner

Convinced you’d never win anything? So was Polly Wright. With a masters degree in economics, she knew the odds. Winning was the furthest thing from her mind and given her busy schedule, the prize patrol would be lucky to track her down.
Wright was one of many Ihloff Salon & Day Spa customers that entered a drawing for a day spa visit during a recent fundraiser for area schools hosted by the business at 83rd and Memorial.
“It took a few calls back and forth to schedule her day spa visit,” admits Ihloff Salon & Day Spa Makeup Artist Taylor Fugat, “and the minute her makeup was applied she was racing out the door to her son’s football game!” Wright and her husband have two very active boys, aged five and nine.
It was Fugate who suggested and organized “10 for 10,” a back-to-school fundraiser for Jenks, Broken Arrow, Union, and Bixby schools. For a 10-day period Ihloff Salon & Day Spa tracked Aveda product sales, and donated 10% of each purchase to the school chosen by each customer. Customers purchasing $50 or more were entered in a drawing for a free facial, hair color, cut and style, and makeup application. Wright’s purchase during “10 for 10” supported Bixby Schools and won her a prize.
“Making people feel beautiful is the most wonderful way to earn a living. We approach it each day as bringing balance and beauty to life,” says Marilyn Ihloff, president and founder of Marilyn Ihloff Salons & Day Spas.
Wright’s visit began with a European facial and Aveda sensory journey. She had chosen a blend of Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, and Rose to be infused in the skin care products Shannon Fagan used during the procedure.
Next, stylist Maggie Wilkerson added highlights to Wright’s hair before cutting and flat ironing it into a style that gently framed her face. Her blue eyes were further accentuated with the soft tawny shades of Aveda almond, chestnut, and illumination eye shadows. Fugat then completed Wright’s day of beauty at Ihloff Salon & Day Spa with an application of agate eye liner.
