The first time I visited Interior Concepts, located at 2501 E. 15th St., I had a warm feeling in my heart, as if I had visited my parents’ home or the home of a friend. The owner of the company, Jean Budd and sales representatives Cindy Scanlon, Chris Cantwell, Karen Nease and Roger Brady are very welcoming to visitors. The interior of the store is so warm and inviting that it makes one want to come back. It is not surprising, because Interior Concepts has been in business for 17 years and has a staff of 12 experienced professionals.

“We provide carpet, custom rugs, window treatments and upholstery to our customers as well as a host of other services,” Jean Budd says. “We help customers choose colors and materials for interior finishes for their homes or offices. We also work with other designers, who often bring their clients to our showroom. We are a resource for obtaining and creating products.”

Jean and Cindy showed me pictures and samples of carpets and rugs, which they designed. They recently completed a custom carpet runner for a staircase with beautiful ornamentation on the borders. They had specialty rugs for Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving.

“We do a lot of logo rugs, which are very popular,” Budd explains. “Companies like to hang them on the walls as well as placing them on the floor,”

There are thousands of carpet samples on display, ranging from $10 to $150 per square yard in every color and texture imaginable.

Interior Concepts also has a large choice of fabrics. They custom make many products for windows, including beautifully made custom draperies. The company also makes bed coverings and throw pillows. Jean was excited to show me the latest delivery of new fabrics. “Yummy colors,” she says. The sheer fabrics for draperies were unique and elegant, and impressed me with unexpected combinations of colors and patterns.

Jean and Cindy noted that many people are now using wood and tile flooring, but find it cold and noisy to live with. They then start to look for items such as carpet and rugs to make their house warm and comfortable…a home! Employees of Interior Concepts are happy to work with their customers, whether residential or commercial, until the customer is satisfied.

Over the years, companies served by Interior Concepts are Citgo Petroleum, Philbrook Art Museum, Price Tower in Bartlesville, Avis Rental Car and Riverfield Country Day School to name just a few.

Interior Concepts is located in Cherry Street at 2501 E.15th St. The telephone number is 744-5534.
