January Seniors of the Month Named


Union High School has named Lucas Chau and Angelena Garner Seniors of the Month for January. Chau is the son of Tom and Tracy Chau of Broken Arrow, and Garner is the daughter of Christopher Garner of Tulsa.

Chau is active in cross country/track, orchestra, National Honor Society, Scottish Skins, Athletic Leadership Council and the Superintendent’s Advisory Council. He also served as a part-time tutor. He is a National Merit Semifinalist, AP National Scholar, 2018 Honor Guard member and a member of the 2018 Homecoming Court. He was a 2018 Track state qualifier in the 4×800 meter relay race and received a superior rating for a state solo content in orchestra.

Chau plans to attend Baylor University and enter its business fellows program so he can design his own curriculum. He hopes to pursue a degree in mathematics and business, eventually pursuing a master of business administration degree and become a certified public accountant.

Garner is active in the College and Career Crew as an officer, “Got Sci,” and orchestra, as well as volunteering for Iron Gate and the Hospitality House. She is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and received a two-year advanced math award. She plans to attend the University of Kansas and major in biochemistry, with the possibility of a career in the medical field.
