Hometown Huddle, hosted by the Jenks Public Schools Foundation, set the stage for an exciting year for jenks students and the community on Sept. 28.
This year’s event was held prior to the kick-off between the Jenks Trojans and the Enid Plainsmen. Hometown Huddle is presented by Titan Sports and affiliated partners, including Playing with Purpose Basketball, Tulsa Soccer Club, Jenks Martial Arts Academy, Tulsa Roughnecks FC and Tulsa Bone & Joint.
Hometown Huddle is a community-wide event for the whole family featuring a pep rally and a festival-style block party. The event is held at the Jenks Downtown Commons located on A Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets.
In addition to food trucks, live music, games and inflatables, student organizations and local businesses participate in fundraising and promotional activities.
The highlight of the event is the annual Jenks Trojan Team Walk and pep rally led by Head Coach Keith Riggs. The walk includes football players, cheerleaders, pom, and band members congregating at the stage on the east side of the Commons.
Hometown Huddle is free to attend, with vendors, clubs and organizations participating.
“We are so grateful to Titan Sports and all of our community partners for helping this event to grow each year, and for their support of our students and families. Hometown Huddle is becoming a part of the Trojan tradition and we are excited to create another memorable event for all ages,” said Elizabeth Inbody, executive director of the Jenks Public Schools Foundation. “It is so much fun to see people from throughout our community come together to show off their spirit and celebrate being a Jenks Trojan.”
